Jillian Speer

Born and raised north of Seattle, Jillian was a natural born performing artist. She studied dance from age 3 (ballet, tap, jazz, & modern) and competed nationally & regionally till she was 16 years old.

Jillian Speer started studying voice at 9 years and classical guitar at 10 years old. Musical theater was also a hobby she took on, she starred in shows like “The Wizard of Oz” & “Godspell.”

At age 16, Jillian Speer received an International scholarship to study in India for one year. In India, she became a certified yoga instructor and learned how to play the sitar. Jillian cut her first demo at 14 years old, and recorded her first album at 18. Within a year, Sony wanted Jillian to move to Los Angeles to sign a record deal. The deal never came to fruition because they wanted 100% of Jillian’s publishing. Soon after, she went on tour opening for Jewel.

Labels such as Atlantic, Hollywood, and Maverick Records have sought after Jillian Speer for many years but none of them aligned with her vision. She has remained on her own label, SPEERIT RECORDS, and continues to record and release her albums independently.

Currently, she is busy recording her 2nd album and plays with her band regularly in Los Angeles, where a devoted following packs the house. Jillian’s music is currently featured in “The Moses Code,” which is the follow up to the movie, THE SECRET.

In 2007, she composed her first score for an HBO documentary on foster children. Her music has often been featured in “Party of Five” television series, and 2 of her songs are in a feature film on Showtime and HBO, called, “Purpose.” Jillian Speer has played at two of California’s biggest music festivals, “Reggae on the River" & “Earthdance Festival."

Jillian Speer’s album was nominated "Best Album of the Year," by the LA Music Awards and in 2005, an exclusive entertainment segment about Ms. Speer was featured on Oprah's cable channel, "Oxygen.”

You cannot put her music into a box, her songs range from blues to folk, world-fusion to rock. Her live shows are captivating, you can see how she affects her audience…they become mesmerized.
